The Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District announces the availability of up to two $2,000 John Fetcher Scholarships for students at a public university within the state of Colorado.
The scholarship provides financial assistance to a committed and talented student who is pursuing a water-related career in any major at a public university within the state of Colorado.
Preference will be given to students who are residents or former residents of Northwest Colorado, desire a career related to water resources, or have shown academic interest in the Yampa River or Colorado River Basin.
Qualifications: The recipient must be a full-time student enrolled in a water-related major at a public university within the state of Colorado, financial need may be considered, and preference is given to students from Northwest Colorado. The scholarship provides $1,000 support for the 2017 Fall term and $1,000 for the 2018 Spring term.
To Apply: Fill out and submit the application below. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2017. The award will be announced on July 14, 2017.
The Scholarship Committee will evaluate and select the 2017-2018 award recipient for the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District. The scholarship winner will be required to send a thank you letter to the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District Board of Directors and offer to attend one board meeting during the scholarship year.
