Biography
Dr. Johnson received a B.S. and Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983 and 1993 respectively, and an M.S. from Ohio State University in 1986, all in Zoology. His current work focuses on anthropogenic influences on aquatic ecosystems such as climate, invasive species, reservoir operations, sport fishery harvest regulation, fish stocking, and contaminants. He applies a wide variety of techniques and approaches including field sampling, modeling, field experiments, classical fisheries biology analytical techniques, stable isotope analysis, and otolith microchemistry. He continues to build bridges between aquatic ecology and environmental management with water researchers in CSU's engineering departments. Most of his projects benefit from close collaboration with managers and researchers from Colorado Division of Wildlife, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and folks in several other state and federal agencies.
