Biography
Mrs. Kallenberger earned her B.S. in Environmental Management from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD in 2001, focusing on integrated natural resource management and wildlife and fisheries science. Mrs. Kallenberger started her career at the USDA-ARS North Central Agricultural Research Laboratory in Brookings, SD while working on her undergraduate degree. Prior to joining the Colorado Water Institute (CWI) at Colorado State University in 2008, she worked in both of Colorado’s government and private sectors including Stewart Environmental Consultants, West Greeley Conservation District, and Colorado Division of Wildlife. Her former efforts involved assisting local landowners by providing technical assistance in the field and laboratory; developing and delivering youth and adult educational resources; and strong collaboration with other partner agencies and community groups to address water and other natural resource concerns. Mrs. Kallenberger is the Assistant Regional Water Coordinator for the USDA-NIFA Northern Plains and Mountains Regional Water Program for CWI. She is primarily responsible for facilitating regional coordination and leveraging of resources in order to support the program’s focus on integrating water resources research, outreach and educational program efforts to address high priority water issues throughout Colorado and the Northern Plains and Mountains Region. Mrs. Kallenberger is currently pursuing her Masters of Science degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources at Colorado State University.
