Biography


A co-founding editor of Human Dimensions in Wildlife, Dr. Vaske focuses on applying social psychological theories to managerial concerns. Recent work includes hunters’ responses to chronic wasting disease in Arizona, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming; human dimensions of wildlife management in California, Colorado, and Washington, and recreationists' attitudes towards endangeredthreatened species. Additionally, Dr. Vaske has conducted similar research in wildlife refuges, national parks, and in Alaska. He received his B.A. in SociologyPsychology and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1973 and 1977 respectively and his Ph.D. in Social Psychology, from the University of Maryland in 1980.
